Dolomites (Fiera di Primiero) 2005
November 7, 2005

Caught the early boat to Venice at 7:35, walked through the city once again, and rented a car at Pizalla Roma - a huge Opel Vectra. Quickly made our way to Belluno and Fiera di Primiero... only one wrong turn. :-)

Checking out Castel Pietra (Stone Castle) just off of the small town of Fiera di Primiero where we based ourselves off of. Many bolts and some fixed lines can be seen on the overhanging face below it, it seems to have some fun sport climbs.

Then hiked to the top of a ridge Palughet (#729 on map) from where there also seems to be insane rock climbing potential. Everything was timed perfectly as it got dark as soon as we got back to the car. Views were stunning... and little did we know it was only going to get better.

Check out Day II pictures as well.

On S. Marco, leaving towards the mountains!

driving fast with a smile (this opel had a 6-speed)

gave up, let's hike the ridge the other way instead.
