Tahoe weekend: Lover's Leap, NF American River
September 15-16, 2012
Previous Page
On Saturday, we had a fun morning doing Hospital Corner,
The Gamoke, Power Lust and Stem Meister in less than 4 hours,
before the sun came to the wall. Once it got hot we went
to South Lake Tahoe chilling out and going to the
Tahoe Climbing/Bouldering
festival, which was a load of fun! On Sunday we went to
the North Fork of the American River, which is a gnarly
class IV river run in the spring time, but in the fall it makes
for a beautiful place to hike and swim (it's not dam controlled).
The only other people we saw all day were ~10 folks that were
camped along the river and... guess this, panning for gold!
The Gold Rush isn't over after all? Ha!

Initially it's easy to stay dry, until the canyon narrows and you are forced to swim |
